What Do Celebrities Serve at Their Weddings?

We all like to occasionally see what the ‘other half’ are up to. Here are a few recent examples of ‘state of the art’ extravagant wedding meals of some very glamorous couples. It is fascinating how couples present themselves to a crowd of invited guests. For good or bad, celebrity weddings have become a staple of magazines, and exclusives can help pay for all that champagne!

DwayneThe RockJohnson and Lauren Hashian

When Dwayne ’The Rock’ Johnson and Lauren Hashian decided to tie the knot, they did not leave their A list guests wanting for much. The starter included some wonderful touches, including home-baked breads, local pastries, a charcuterie selection and a very colourful and healthy fruit bowl. Then the main meals surpassed all expectations with a buffet that guests could help themselves from. The wonderful spread included an inspired frittata with tasty cheddar cheese, fresh broccoli and smoked bacon. To top it all there were hundreds of golden pancakes served with maple syrup.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

Now, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth fortunately decided not to ‘wreck’ the party but stuck to their vegan principles and served their guests vegan chicken and dumplings.

Miley said about this low-key choice: “That was my only rider. I would do anything for dumplings. You could add nothing else. I didn’t even need a dress; I was trying to wear leggings and a hoodie. I just wanted dumplings, that’s all.”

George and Amal Clooney

George and Amal Clooney went a bit more glam and curated a special menu. Everything on the menu was inspired by Tuscany, from locally sourced black truffles to a lemon risotto served with lobster, porcini mushrooms and beef! One bonus of being invited to the Clooney wedding was that George also has a stash of Casamigos Tequila to get the party started!

Robbie Williams and Ayda Field

Robbie ‘Take That’ Williams and Ayda Field appeared to cover all bases when they opted for three, yes three main meal offerings. They supplied the delighted crowd with an eclectic mix of sushi to steak and a slice or two of red velvet chocolate cake for afters. In typically humorous Robbie style, the partygoers were served up a Full English Breakfast of eggs, bacon and beans in the wee hours of the morning! This was topped off by Robbie and Ayda changing into his and hers matching pyjamas, initialled with ‘RW’ and ‘AW’ much to the joy of everyone!

Beyoncéand Jay-Z

Beyoncé and Jay-Z decided to shun all the chefs in the land by cooking and serving a homemade dinner for the forty or so guests at this most intimate of weddings. Beyoncé cooked up Creole food and Jay-Z’s own grandmother cooked oxtails to keep it real!

While some of the above options are beyond the means of most of us, we can all draw inspiration from these celebrity wedding menus to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience.
